SpeedFan isn't reading you fan bus.

You could try downloading a configuration from SpeedFan.

Different BIOSs (and different CPUs) have different settings to control fan speed.

You kind of have to read you Motherboard Owner's Manual to see how yours works.

I'm using an old Dell and it took quite a bit of messing around to find out I had three options:
Let the motherboard do it, but I upgraded the CPU and it seems to run to warm for me. The fan does speed up and slow down with load. How much, I don't know.
Use SpeedFan:
If I set the fan speed at 66% the fan runs at 1900 RPM all the time - but the noise is tolerable and I only need more cooling under very heavy loads when overclocked.
If I set the fan speed to 67% or higher the fan runs at 3200 RPM all the time - a little to loud for me.
