Hi to All overclock fanatics,

I would like to present idea for small case with properly water-cooling system.
the idea came from passion to mini-itx form factor and discovery of watercooling on the way.
Currently awaiting last revision from production site(SFX final version)

After long debate decided to change to SFX power supply and improve side radiator space.
Now the case supports SFX power supply which is enough to drive today's powerful systems.
Change to SFX power supply allows to fit 60mm radiator either in Pull or Push setup.
Some minor vents design change in main and side panel

Power supply can be now mounted facing either radiator or storage cage:


Possibility to fit dual radiator setup:



Pump/res mounting brackets:
Vertical and horizontal brackets, height of horizontal bracket can be set easily to match motherboard components.


To summarise final build:

RADIATORS:
Side radiator (3x120mm)maximum dimensions:
Length : 415mm
Width: 135 mm
Thickness: 60 mm

It does fit such units as EKWB PREDATOR

Rear radiator (1x120mm) maximum dimensions:
Length: 160mm
Width: 134mm
Thickness : depends on cpu socket location


PUMP/RES avaiable dimmensions, pre-drill holes:
Easy acces to pump/res location and installations as brackets are removable.

For the Horizontal bracket:
Maximum height is 189mm or 208 mm(bracket mounted upside down)
Pre-drill holes for Laing DDC mounting - internal and externall ones
Pre-drill holes for DDC pumps with heatsing housing - 50mm spacing

It does fit all the Laing DDC pump variants, as well as heatsing options.
In terms of height it does fit such units as:
Aquacomputer aqualis DDC 150 ml
Aquacomputer aqualis DDC 100 ml
Alphacool Laing DDC310 - Complete Edition Eisdecke
EK-XRES 140 DDC
EK-XRES 100 DDC


VERTICAL BRACKET:

Pre-drill holes for Aquacomputer aqualis D5 100ml
Pre-drill holes for EKWB EK-XRES D5 pump/res combo

Maximum height is 214 mm

BOTTOM OF THE CASE:
Pre-drill holes for Alphacool Eisdecke mounting bracket for DDC and D5 pump/top systems with Alphacool Eisdecke DDC/D5 single reservoir for Alphacool


SFX POWER SUPPLY:
total height space is 189 mm
recommended length will be 150mm to have space for connectors and cables.


GRAPHICS CARD:
Maximum length 302mm:


STORAGE CAPABILITIES:
Window bracket:
one HDD drive and two SSD drives
Bottom of the case:
Two SSD drives

Case size is as follows:
Length:415 mm
Width:258 mm
Height: 221 mm plus feet

Here is the story:

Since may of 2015 I was trying to find solution how to get smallest possible case and fit of powerfull watercooling loop.
First few tries where done in blender but that's not the way to create anything in engineering smile.gif
Than the scratch build came..

The orientation subject, Have tried the horizontal first as had some pcie flex cable extensions:
with horizontal graphics card and Psu behind it.


that idea suppose to have two radiator in horizontal positions - nightmare to install and no space to connect radiator to pump.

Than I have tried moving psu next to motherboard nad place HDD behind gpu:



Than Adding radiator :


Again similar problems with space for the pump and almost none for tubbing.
And very large in size too frown.gif almost 30 cm

Wanted to keep space for high end gpus - wchich means 30 cm space .....
Then few tries on horizontal orientations, which one was quite nice, with HDD between horizotnally oriented PSU and pump



Nice thing was the high of the case - around 19cm smile.gif
Very limited width for the side radiator. Difficult to get mounting points for almost anything.
Above concept was assuming usage of two separate radiators to get 360 total.

But than again, graphics card 30 cm plus PSU thicknes gives 40cm not to mention very small space eft for the HDD cables and anything.


That gave me idea to keep the length of the case and add some high to move PSU into vertical orientation and have the space for 360 radiator on the whole side smile.gif
This also allows to have proper mountings for the rad as well as two SSD in the widnow....
And gives two options for rads, either 360 ora 120 on rear and 240 on side.

Returning to story...

Painting and Plexi panel:
As for the painting we have verified painting in professional aluminium painting site:
and looks excellent, - black in matt, final screws will be imbus as well but rounded ones for better esthetics


(on the picture is painted early main cover prototype, final top vents as on first post pictures and on below render.)
Final main cover design:

Plus the confirmed Demciflex filter design for front intake:





As for the plexi panel we have chosen the most expensive but with beautiful finish edges:





Powerbutton switch.

We have chosen the flat one with 90 degrees edges to fit the main panel perfectly, black aluminium made.

Watercooled Mini-itx rig? I sub!

Is your choice about the GPU block definitive? Because a full cover would looke awesome under that plexi panel...

To be honest did not think about this, yet....
Most likely will have to changed to mobo which does support such one - have to verify ekwb configurator first.

Some Details on Radiator compatibility:
Rad Side panel design:




Total free space for the radiator and fans is:
415 mm for the length
69 mm for the thickness
135 mm for the width


After the SFX update:
415 mm for the length
86,5 mm for the thickness
135 mm for the width

Which allows 60mm thic radiator to be mount in pull

Guys, currently re-arranging power supply space to fit SFX power, two Hard drives and 60mm thick radiator in PUSH setup smile.gif
Will post details tomorrow.

Currently testing various feet for case.

Finally got the time to post changes,
as Overdose moved to SFX power supply and improved space for side Radiator.
Changes updated in first post, here I will present some measurement with various side radiator thickness ....

Coming back with distances to power supply.
With 60 mm rad we have 18,5 mm fre space to the psu, however psu can be mounted facing opposite side

60mm rad(pull)


54mm rad - push or pull - distance to power supply is 26mm


40mm rad - push or pull - distance to power supply is 43,5mm



As for horizontal bracket, height can be adjust as follows:
