The developer definitely should have sued. Ansel is packaged in the drivers of cards for sale, and is a selling point (Nvidia literally has said it was their most sought after feature in the new updates). Therefore it is a commercial product. Since the code was copy and pasted exactly, it's a clear cut case. Taking Nvidia to court would've gained the developer a hefty settlement.

This is such a sleaze bag move by Nvidia. It's one thing to copy a feature, but another to steal source code. If they had contacted the developer before this, i'm sure he wouldve been fine for a very modest sum, but instead they stole it, and are only removing the 'sample code' after the outrage.

According to the developer the reason for his code being there had to do with testing. Unless I'm reading this wrong nothing seems to indicate that Ansel as a whole is just his code rebranded.

Although someone who knows more about coding could correct me. I'm just going off of his statement. Looks like it's being taken out as well.
