Gtx 1080 strix heat problem

Hi all,

I bought a strix 1080 and set a custom fan profile so when pc starts up it uses that.

Well im playing gta v open gpu z. And its running at 1300 mhz at a mmassive 95c. The fans are even spinning yet the profile is active.

I quickly restarted pc and it seems to be ok.

Question is- Is it pissible that temp damaged or degraded the core to now cause shadow artefacts in games or any anomaly while playing. (Im sure the wticher 3s shadows look messed up now but could be wrong)

It could be, but if you're on the latest drivers, try to uninstall them with Display Driver Uninstaller and then install some older drivers to see if that fixes it. Many people seem to be having problems with shadows on the latest drivers in various games, so it could be driver related.

As for the GPU temperature, it seems to be way too high. Maybe that cooler isn't seated properly or the thermal paste isn't applied right.
