Bitspower Dual D5 pump top

Thread Starter
Are there any limitations on the mounting orientation for the pump top? I can't seem to locate a manual for the pump top and I am wanting to mount it vertically (one pump above the other) with the inlet above the outlet. I am not sure if this orientation is possible or not. Any help is appreciated.

I haven't seen a manual for that kit either but I have handled one and I don't see why not. The only orientation to really stay away from is turning the pump completely upside down where the impeller is on the bottom. Every D5 I've seen does fine on it's side, and that mod kit all should feed coolant from the top pump to the lower pump so long as the res is above to prime them.

That is how I was looking at it as well. The pumps would be mounted in the same orientation as my current pump, just two of them.

Any pump top can be mounted in whatever orientation you like... as long it's not with pump above the top (upside down).

Also first (master) pump in the loop has to be connected to reservoir. Pretty much the only requirement.

If it is of any help to you I have just finished rugged workstation for warehouse with one Watercool HK D5 top (sideway outlet) on the floor (primary) and one EK Revo top above it. No issues to report except very tight space for setting up rpms on second pump, but that's only one off job so no biggie.

Bitspower D5 dual top should work in that setup without problems - as long as you initially bleed system with only one pump. Keep however in mind that this particular top is known for excessive flow resistance. I would recommend 2 separate tops for optimal performance.
