I have steam installed on my ADATA USB3.0 32GB stick & playing Alan Wake is unplayable at max settings. It freezes every few seconds. Like the intro scene when starting the game. Rather then play continuously smooth it plays in a bad stuttering way. I got this stick as it was reviewed a good budget fast stick. On my PC this stick gets around 80-100MB transfer 18-20MB/s write with HD movies.
So does this sound right? Bad stick or Alan Wake just requires alot of writing to the USB?
I have the Kingston HyperX 128GB USB & it plays fine off it but this isn't for gaming.

File transfers are a bit different than running programs off the stick.
SSDs have much higher IOPS and much lower access time.
