With the game on a downward spiral in terms of sales charts, number of players and negative reviews now being the majority on Steam, I'd say that people should only expect the rest of the bugs to be fixed and then the freighters and base building that they promised specifically. At this point, and with all the silence from the developer, either Sean Murray makes a very comprehensive and honest communication of what went wrong to try to win back some of the player base instead of pretending that nothing happened and that nobody is asking questions, or he and his team can prepare to pack their bags and start the long desert crossing until they release the next game, which will be under even greater scrutiny.

Oh well. Hopefully a few people are turned off from pre-ordering or buying before reading reviews after this one. (we can hope as always tongue.gif )

If modding really does pick up and get a good community behind it, could become a good game some day.

dungeon keeper and black and white were AMAZING games; I even had fun with the original fable once it was fully patched and dlc'ed up.

I think if they incorporated real MP from the beginning they wouldn't of had such a backlash. I just cannot see and probably will never see the appeal that these types of games have on some gamers. It seems like a pure grinding/scavenging game. It's fine to have those elements but it should never be the core of the game. Maybe I'm not adapting to the current trends, but I've always valued a good story or good gameplay above all, and even better when there was a good balance of the two. I feel there's a trend in gaming nowadays to make games huge, open-world, and have tons to do. But I feel that in order to do this they have to add or pad them with repetitive activities.

I can't believe I'm asking for this, but I wish games had a more narrow scope. Especially since 10 years ago I had wished games we're bigger and had more to do. It seems like some games have gone too far in expanding their worlds. Because to me, I'm seeing alot of ground but shallow waters to fill the new ground. Like Fallout 4. I put in ~200 hours into it and stopped playing it 2 months after release, didn't even complete the main quest due to side quest burnout. But I still have no urges to play it again. Like Oblivion and Skyrim, I've only done 1 playthrough and still have no urges to replay it. While with Morrowind I've replayed over a dozen times since release because I feel there is more weight to their missions and story and recently I've felt the urge to replay again after watching that Skyui video update a couple weeks ago. I don't know, maybe i'm weird but this is what I feel in regards to gigantic games that are shallow.
