There is so much wrong with this game. The only good what has come out of this game is for developers to learn and move on.
Most probably at this point. Implementing everything that is missing from the game would either be
1. a very quick job because it was ready but removed because of PS4 constraints, in which case there would be a legal storm between Hello Games and Sony as they sure as everything wouldn't allow the PC version to suddenly become a much better game;
2. much more likely, the team is small, those features were only talked about and made for show in the videos but never properly implemented, in which case it would take months to deliver all the stuff that is missing.
And the thing is, I don't think that there is time for that now. The reputational damage has been done and the incentive to work on those features - not to mention the money required to do so, are not there, so most probably the game will just have a few more bug patches delivered and the base building and freighters and that's it. People will have moved on in a few months before the devs could realistically deliver anything more substantive.
So, all in all, maybe after a while the developers should walk away from it too. Unless Sean does a 180, starts answering questions right now, says they will make the game as it was supposed to be and actually deliver on it, even if they take months. That would go a long way to improve their reputation. I doubt that, but it could happen. They'll probably just move on to the next game.

I wonder how many asked steam for a refund.
That is an excellent question. With 52k+ reviews, more than half of them being negative, I wonder if this might be running alone for the title of most refunded game until now on Steam. Also interesting, given the nature of the game and that you only find out that the game isn't what it was supposed to be outside of the refund window, would be to know if Valve is opening exceptions or not, especially for the early buyers who didn't have access to reviews.Edited by tpi2007 - 8/26/16 at 10:44am
