[Help] Driver install fail.

Thread Starter
I was installing the newest driver when the screen turned into this.

I tried restarting, but the problem presist. The bois screen looks fine and the window startup logo is fine as well. Once into desktop the screen looks like that. I have no idea what to do now.

Edit: used bios to force using iGPU. The desktop looks fine now. Trying to reinstall ati drivers now.

Edit2: i down grade the driver and everything seems fine now.

Interesting. I occasionally get a brief flash of a screen on the 16.8.2 driver during initial driver load, right before the login screen that once or twice looked like that. Mostly it's pink for me. For me it's a single frame and not persistent like yours. . Driver unload gives me a green line single frame on shutdown. Happens on stock settings on my rx480. I wonder if it's related to the black screen issue they're trying to fix with the 16.8.3 driver? In the issue description sometimes it's a colored frame and not a black screen.

Happened to me once a while back, and my CPU does not have an iGPU. I managed to get into the screen where you can select System Restore. Did a restore and was fine. Then I used the AMD utility from inside Windows to update the drivers. Rebooted and all was fine. I have no idea what happened but now I always set a restore point before I mess with graphics drivers.
