Windows 10 Pro 1607 Anniversary Update Problem

Thread Starter
I have the Asus X99/U3 MB (UEFI BIOS), with Intel 5960X cpu, 64MB Memory, Nvidia GTX 980Ti GPU running 64bit Win 10 Pro V1511, build 10586 on Samsung 1 TB SSD. Have tried to upgrade to the 1607 update without success. The update starts up just fine and initially ramped up fairly fast percentage wise, but somewhere along the way it slowed down dramatically, taking at least 12 hours to reach 99% complete. But, after sitting at that percentage for hours, it never reached 100% and thus completion.
thisThis windows install was fresh with only a few programs installed. I have no idea what the problem might be unless it is some setting(s) in the advanced BIOS many of which I know little about or confusing.

I also have another Samsung 1 TB SSD running same Win 10 with 155 programs installed that also would not update even after three different Microsoft technicians tried to do so remotely with the last being their top level tech. He suggested it must be one of the too many installed programs causing the failure, thus the above fresh start with an identical setup.

Is anyone else having this experience; or can anyone offer idea's, suggestions or comments that might lead to success? Incidentally, I have three other computers all of which running same Win 10, just different PC's that updated quickly with no problem. This leads me to think that it must be a hardware or BIOS issue that keeps this pc from updating. Unfortunately, it is my primary desktop PC. Help!

Do a Repair install of Win10 with the most current ISO instead of letting the Update run as normal , I've had issues with .240 and .380 doing similar things on several computers , and this got them over the hump...BUT smile.gif on one I ended up having to do a Clean install anyway so YMMV.
