4k vs 27 " 144 hz battle

Why play on 27" when you can play on a 40" 4k screen?
Well here's the thing, i want a 40" 4k screen, but the ones that exist aren't worth it, and we're at the brink of getting 4k 120hz very soon. If there was 40" 4k OLED i'd buy it immediately, but such a thing doesnt exist for some strange reason.

I use 27" because its the perfect physical height. Wouldn't mind a 21:9 version of what I got though.

Point is you cant sit close enough to a 65" without things becoming ugly due to its pixel density compared to a 40" where you can sit much closer as it has the same ppi as a 27" 1440p monitor and be more immersed that way. I suppose one can get as close to a 65" provided they can tolerate those pixels, but i definitely would not want to do that.

Well there are 2 things about 40 inch 4k that help increase immersion in games. Obviously thats screen size and resolution. But there are twice as many things about it that breaks immersion. Lack of 120/144hz refresh rate, no gsync on any monitor that big, pixel response times are nowhere near as good as my XB270HU since there are no OLED displays, and input lag. All of those combined make for a not so smooth experience and ruins immersion. Sure things look all pretty when you stand still in game but start moving around and its a different story. You dont play screenshots.

Why play at 4k at all when you can barely reach 60fps, if that, on current gen games?
I think 4K 60Hz is a lot easier to run then 1440p 144Hz. Reason is that the CPU needs to be up date as much as GPU but with 4K you though the best GPU and you are good to go and not care much what CPU you have.

I have a 60" 4k.
I still want a 27" 144hz 1440p monitor because of the higher refresh rate, native 144hz, IPS panel, and G sync technology.

I will have roughly the same pixel density at 2k 27" as i do 4k 60", but the added benefits listed above make a huge difference.

Also I should note that with my 980ti I have no problem hitting 60fps in most games at 4k.
Alot of people seem to think 4k is unplayable but they are wrong.
