Zotac 970 4GB stuttering during games - Page 6

Don'worry about other errors. Check for the errors recorded during the freeze ;-) My event viewer contains yellow and red errors even on flawlessly working systems, I don't care about them smile.gif

Double post but see the previous reply. Edited it there

After you've tried others' suggestions first, consider checking & updating the 840 EVO's firmware if its not latest already. See if the "Performance Restoration" bit helps with your problem.

The article below describes the fix's procedure, but that was 2 yrs ago it might be different now. Just try installing latest Samsung Magician for your SSD & see if firmware updates & Performance Restoration can be done thru it.

I would be checking in the 'System' section.

Yeah, unfortunately it seems that not all issues can be tracked down with event viewer. I wonder have the SMART values changed after that last freeze. And also did you find anything interesting on the ASRock support site smile.gif

For your information, C/D drive is my Samsung 840 which contains my OS, H: drive is the one that contains my games, Heroes of the Storm and World of Warcraft which is in this video, and E: drive is my HDD which stores videos etc.

Go crazy!

Seems like the issue is located.

Once the freeze occures, your Activity time and R/W sky rocket REALLY. Doing 40Mb/s total under System as process is the culprit msot probably.

Also, for the 3rd time, i am asking you, WHAT WINDOWS ARE YOU USING?

If you are on Windows 10 Update 1607, the issue is from Windows itself. Simply go to the services and try disabling the AppXSVC (Apps Deployment service).

Oh I didnt see the OS question, yes Windows 10 indeed. Am using the newest update 1607 too. I located AppXSVC and it says its not running and in Manual mode.

On a sidenote I reinstalled Samsung Magician to the latest and poof, theres a new firmware update. Strange that all the "Check for updates" in almost every program isn't working as intended and requires a reinstallation. About to test if the issue happens again. The R/W shooting up is based on the Samsung 840 EVO (OS SSD) right? So its not an issue with my Samsung 850 EVO with all my games?

The is a risk as with all fw updates, so i recommend to try only after all other suggestns. Also make sure to go thru the article.

BTW what is that CleanMem.exe process that appears in the list during the freeze? Did u install this after or before the issue occurred?

Oh I used to use CleanMem when I was still on 16gb ram, I now have 32 and should get rid of it since its useless now.
