Gigabyte VGA - XTREME ENGINE Version 1.09

Thread Starter
I'm so glad that Gigabyte finally updated their XTREME ENGINE software, so now it supports GTX950 up to GTX980 and GTX TITAN GPU series.

My fried lately got himself his new GTX 1060 G1 GAMING card and he was using the previous version of the XTREME ENGINE software where as I was stuck with that crappy OC Guru II because the XTREME ENGINE didn't supported my GTX 980 Ti G1 GAMING card at that moment, and oh boy... that OC Guru II is just a pain in the ass!
I mean, common Gigabyte, how could you release an "overclocking" software that doesn't even had a settings menu. I literally couldn't make this Guru II to load itself as soon as my Windows starts. I ended up with running it manually after each restart so it will run in the background. I have also tried to place the Guru II exe into the Windows startup folder but it just didn't worked. And that was one of the less irritating issues with the OC Guru II...

For the sake of truth, I'm not that big of an overclocker, I just wanted some proper software to control the LED lighting effects and to be able to set a fan profile for my card. And I read a lot of comments and posts where a lot of people was asking Gigabyte to release some simple software solution just for the LED's controls because people were started to give up on OC Guru II and were switching to other, more effective and stable overclocking software like MSI Afterbuner etc.

Well, I really hope that the EXTREME ENGINE will be much better than OC Guru II in terms of controls over my GPU setting.

Anyway, here is the link to Gigabyte's Utility download page:

I gave à try to this 1.09 version yesterday... It's steel à nogo for me.
It's impossible to make à 'fine' curve tuning, the sw do not respect the curve you set in it.
For exemple, it was impossible to set a point at 2075mHz... In fact, it's 'jumping' up from 2037 to 2100 and crash the driver.
Using afterburner, i can run up 2100 MHz with no problem.

It's juste à shame for Gigabyte to provide such a nice card (1080 waterforce), with a so brocken OC SW.
(They made about 5 updates on the Xtreme engine and it's steel crapy...)
