Well, fan controller isn't a must at all if you require silence so you could just get the Define R5.

I agree. The R5 is also a great case. I'm just trying to sell you on the H440! rolleyes.gif

I don't understand, you have to have silence so the case "must have" a fan controller?

I have a case that has NO fan controller and using the mobo headers and the mobo software for fan control and my rig is absolutely dead silent. I will also mention a push pull on an AIO "might" net you 1-2c more in cooling, hardly worth the effort in trying to find a case to fit it. I would recommend rethinking the way your rig is setup first and then get a case based on that.

I have the H440. If your goal is silence and aesthetic then it's a winner for sure. However, the cooling isn't so great even with upgraded fans. There's a lot of restriction for air coming into the case via both the front panel and the top panel, so if you do go that route keep in mind that your temps will be higher compared to other cases - it's for that reason alone I've been debating on getting a different case.

Personally I'd be more worried about pump noise then your case.

I second motherboard fan headers and sticking with Fractal, Phanteks too if you want options. The H440 is too restrictive to be quiet IMO. You could also get one of many internal/PCI fan controllers as well.

Edit: why not the R5?

The r5 is a good option but i'm not sure it will fit the thick 38mm radiator in a push pull configuration. The case looks rather dull in my opinion. It has the fan controler which adds to it's value.
I like the pwm hub on the noctis 450 because it can control the fan speed depending on Bios settings of up to 8 fans conected to only 1 motherboard chassis fan and in my case I only have 1 corectly working chassis fan, the others are running at full speed.
The noctis is advertised to have 10x more surface area for better airflow. I did not find some good performance reviews. It is exactly the same on the interior as the h440 with the added pwm hub and revised exterior for better airflow. Personally I like how it looks especially with that blue LED.
The pump is inaudible. I can't hear it over the fans.

It looks nice but the radiator will not fit in top. It has 41mm in that top space. The radiator is 38 mm and 1 fan is 25.

I was under the impression that you could combine the space in the case with the space in the top panel... oh well.

Th Noctis 450 is good, but a bit overpriced, IMO. If you like the looks, features & it fits your budget, thats great.
The case airflow & silence would depend on your case fans.

Also, Check out the Enthoo Luxe. Great bang for buck case.
