X99E-ITX/ac Failure to Post - 3 Beeps (RAM)

Thread Starter
I'm unable to get my new build with a X99E-ITX/ac to post with 3 beeps (suggests ram issue)? The machine's specs are below. I tried swapping out the 2x16gb sticks for a single 4gb Adata stick and still got three beeps. I'm about to RMA, but I thought I would check here first and see if anyone had any ideas.

Mobo: X99E-ITX/ac
CPU: 6850k
Memory: G.Skill DDR4-3200 Tridentz 2x16gb (tried swapping with a single 4gb A data)
Graphics Card: 1080 GTX FE
HD: M.2 SM961 1TB

Your BIOS probably doesn't support the newest CPUs. If you haven't updated to BIOS 3.10, you need to pop a Haswell-E chip in there, update, and then put your 6850K in.

I guess that's possible, but I put in the latest bio chip from bios depot.

Edit: Confirmed with Bios Depot that they gave me v3.1

What speed is the adata memory? I wonder if your CPU won't handle 3200mhz memory.

Try removing both sticks then booting, same post code?
Remove GPU, same post code?

Remove CPU and check for bent/broken pins. I had a broken pin on my evga x99 that would only effect memory channels 3 and 4...

I bought the a-data purely to try to get this thing to boot. The A-data is a single stick of 4gb 2133mhz, the G.Skill is 2 sticks of 3200mhz 16gb. CPU looks ok. No changes from unplugging the graphics card.

Then it's the mobo or CPU.

I would call Asrock to see if you can get a bios directly from them. 3rd party seller may/may not know what they sent you...

Otherwise RMA the cpu and mobo and go from there.

check inside your socket for bent pins by the way. just in case. forgot to mention this as well

For posterity - Tried an official new bios chip and reinspected the socket-no dice.

Swapped in a new identical mobo-everything worked without issue- even the 32gb of ddr4 3200 (although haven't yet tested the XMP). Thanks for all of your replies.

I know its not you ram since you already swapped it out but I just wanted to led you know that I have a very similar system to yours and I can not get my 2x16gb sticks to work at XMP (3200mhz). So far best I can do is 2800mhz.
