Temp probe ok in pump housing?

Do you guys think the temp probe will read correctly if I have it screwed into a port on my dual D5 mod top?

Or are they more accurate if in a T fitting with a constant flow going over it?

I assume the little chamber in the mod top would still allow enough heat transfer through the water to give an accurate temp reading don't you think?

It should still give a relatively accurate reading, it would be more accurate with a constant flow going by it for sure but i dont think it would be a huge change if at all noticeable. hope this helps.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Adding an additional T with fittings is more cumbersome to the loop & costly compared to just screwing it in the pump block.

Thanks.

I have one temp sensor in my HK D5 top and there is negligible difference between temp in the top and further along the way. Pump top 28C, first and last (4 in total) rad 28.5C.

Should do.

Water has quite a substantial specific heat (it takes quite a lot of energy to change its temperature appreciably), so I doubt you'll see any temperature drifts from having it there compared to further down the line (as long as it's not after a waterblock or a radiator that is).
