Xbox One External HD - Seagate or WD?

I've seen tons of fake review websites that just have buy here links, but none with benchmarks comparing a seagate and WD. Which drive is typically better/faster? The Seagate Slim Plus 2TB and the WD My Book / Passport Ultra are all $90 right now. Do any of them have a faster drive or are they all nearly identical? If so which is more reliable?

I've been using the WD My Book 4tb, as far as performance goes, I can't give any details on Seagate. I haven't had any issues with WD, and can't help with the performance side of it.

I found this older comparison. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/2-tb-portable-external-hdd-duel-seagate-backup-plus-slim-vs-wd-my-passport-ultra/8/
I am a bit surprised that 1.5 years later the price is only $10 less today. There has to be a better value out there to get a 2TB external.
Perhaps this is no longer valid as the drives are no longer identical to these ones?

I would personally suggest getting the largest capacity you can afford, because if you're spending 80-90@ on a 2tb, you can get 2tb more for 120$... or 5tb total for 130$.

Personally, as long as you choose Seagate or Western Digital you'll be fine. They're both the top HDD manufactures out there.
Personally I like Western Digital and Their Blue, Blacks and Reds.
I will say I do have 3 external HDDs
-1x 5tb Western Digital Blue ( I took this guy out of his shell for my main computer, steam games, movies... etc..)
-1x 4tb Western Digital Green (I think) that is sitting on a shelf unused holding data
-1x 4tb Seagate (Xbox One storage drive)

I think I found my winner, http://m.thewirecutter.com/reviews/the-best-external-desktop-hard-drive/
the 3TB backup plus desktop version. Supposedly this has the full 3.5'' drive with a barracuda drive in it. The Slim is a 2.5'' laptop hard drive.
I like the WD Black drives but they have failed on me before.
The difference between the 3TB and 5TB backup plus desktop is now $100 vs $140 depending where you get it. Apparently the 5TB was cheaperr in the past but right now most retailers have it at $140 so, the $33 to $28 difference per TB is not significant to me really.
I don't like the idea of having to turn it on and off all the time since it is for the xbox, but getting a more powerful drive instead of the 2.5'' laptop drive seems more appealing to me than the convenience.

Edit: apparently 3TB seagates are some of the most unreliable of all drives, so now i have to second guess again.

more data on drive reliability here:

the WD is hardly any better. the research never ends.
