[PCMonitors] Philips BDM4037UW Curved VA 4k 40” Monitor - Page 10

Interesting display, but I could never go back to 60 Hz. The difference between 60 and 100+ Hz is Hugh Mungous.

I was under the impression you were having fun with your OLED.

Yeah what happened? I'm actually willing to ditch 100+ FPS (including 120 FPS ULMB) on my IPS monitor in favor of a 4k 60 Hz VA, as long as everything else about the VA monitor is decent (e.g. no PWM dimming, light AG coating or less, fairly low input lag).

OLED 60 Hz is way better than LCD 60 Hz. But still the ASUS PG348Q/X34 series monitors I think are still the best gaming displays out there.

Im an X34 guy and the monitor is great for games at 100 hz / 100 fps. Sure Id rather have a 100 or 144 hz 40" 4K, but they dont have those yet. Feels fine surfing the web too.

For you.

Not for me, I like to have a better aspect ratio. I can barely fit a full document on my screen, without having to scroll down all the time. And in game, I can't see ground or sky(limited visibility)...   I bought the monitor for it's performance, not for it's stupid aspect ratio. The X34 is a hold me over until I can buy a few 40" oleds for gaming.

Race games are about the only thing I find ultrawide useful for. Because you don't pan up or down... just side to side.

Uhhh I think the X34 is a hold over for all of us that have one. 40" 4k 120+hz screen is on my wish list...I don't even care if its OLED, however, I would prefer that......these 1440 monitors are too small for all the detail modern games pack in.

Hopefully it's not more matte than 144 Hz AHVA. I'll keep an eye on it, thanks.

Ouch same AG coating as the 28 inch TN 4k and 33ms of input lag on top of that. Disappointing.
