i7 6700k - Temepratures fluctuating a lot, bad cooler seat?

Hi,

I have a i7 6700k which is fluctuating a lot, idle temps with a Corsair H75 are around 28°C but the moment any load is put on the CPU it rises to 60-70 degree, under medium load AIDA64 test it then stabilizes at around this range. However XTU temps quickly rise to around 90-100°C

Keep in mind that I am running the CPU at 4,6GHz with adaptive voltage, as I cant get the CPU to run stable with manual voltage.

The temeprature difference between each core are as much as 10°C where as 3 cores are 1°C apart and 4th core is 10°C below all other cores. Currently I am using the stock thermal paste that came shipped with the H75 AIO.

My old i7 4820k with an Antect Khûler 920 never acted in any similar fashion, and would slowly increase temperatures during load and even at 4,6GHz this CPU never peaked above 55°C

What your CPU voltage at load? CPU-Z screenshot would be helpful. 6700k heats up fast under load and XTU is a tough benchmark for the CPU. Try re-seating your H75.

your 4820k had a soldered IHS. this one uses TIM between the die and the IHS. thumb.gif
