Windows 7 or Windows 10 for DX11 gaming? - Page 3

At least apple is kind enough to let you opt out of said intrusions, and tells you how to do it, while on the other hand, M$ doesn't even tell you, or let you opt out. You have to find those options yourself, and even the power user will need help locating those options. You don't see many hacked versions of OSX (if any) to choose from, but there are literally a dozen hacked versions of win10 with most if not all the spying options stripped out. Sorry, I just don't buy it. I can't imagine apple going one way with its phone, and going the opposite with its desktop OS.
Again, agreed, all OS's spy to a certain extent but it was no secret that before win10 came out, it was labeled the most intrusive OS to date, and continues to be.

Sorry for the thread hijack, it wasn't intentional. I'll ride along now biggrin.gif

Google won't help with that, you have to know where to look. Dark web, torrents, etc. but they are definitely there if you look hard enough.

Best ive found is this:

Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB (Long Term Servicing Branch) is like Windows 10 Enterprise but will not receive any feature updates, gives companies (YOU) more control over the update process and is the most stripped down edition of Windows 10 available. It lacks the following applications and features:
  • Store including most modern apps like Xbox, Contacts, etc.
  • There are only four remaining modern apps: Contact Support, Search, Settings and Windows Feedback
  • It is also not possible to reinstall the Store
  • Cortana
  • Edge

See no one with all telementry stuff turned off. But theres good programs that do it in 1 click.

After a few days of strictly being on W7, I don't miss W10 at all... I'd just stick with it until DX12 finally becomes relevant.

Can you multi-boot or dual boot with Windows 10? Like with other Linuxes? Does it require any third party tinkering software?

Yes you can multiboot with Windows 10. It's easy. Doesn't require any 3rd party software.

Yup, this is what I do, no third party software. Windows 7 + Windows 10. Gonna stay this way too I'm sure since I play some really old games that don't play nice with 10.
