I feel like you are being OCD on the IO shield, and I don't blame you. Having said that, you may get lower temps with the IO less restricted.

I think you're right pshootr , i'm obsessed with this IO shield, i'm too picky... I will let the motherboard like that and cross the fingers that everything will work till my new rig.
