Either will be fine. Afterburner and Precision X are even built off the back of the same code.

Playing something older like Mass Effect 3's multiplayer at 4K using DSR it runs entirely passively, with temperatures hovering around 55. For such a small cooler it's very impressive. By comparison, the EVGA SC used to sit at 78-79 in the same case. This was after flashing the new BIOS that adds the 0dB mode and relaxes the fan curve. Noise levels were about the same, although I don't recall exact RPMs for that one. The ITX OC has a 0dB mode out of the box, incidentally.

That's with both cards overclocked to the limit and with the voltage slider at 100%. Speaking of which, it also overclocks ever so slightly better than my SC did, with a max of 2126MHz versus 2101MHz on the EVGA, although that's obviously going to vary card to card anyway. I'm very happy with it though, considering it was basically a blind buy (due to a great deal). Gigabyte are doing themselves a disservice by not sending out review samples. The SC has a great reputation, but the ITX OC is the better card for me. There's just hardly any information about it out there.
Yeah there is not much info about the GB mini card unfortunately there seems to be quite a variance in quality/power consumption on Pascal and Polaris, some cards run super well and cold but some hot and hungry.
The cooler with single fan is fine as long as there are enough heatpipes and air can easily escape from the heatsink.

Some of the EVGA SC are good some not so much as yours I guess, but it still OCed very well.

I've had issues with my card so looking again what is available now, hopefully I get it resolved with a refund so I can get some other card.

Anybody know if the Asus Dual 1060 OC6 has a heat-sink on the vrm, like the strix?

Edit: The only thing i could find is a vid on youtube about the 3GB non oc, not the 6GB oc, and it looks like it doesn't have any heat-sink.

However after some test, i assume that the voltage slider is useless. with voltage set to 0 or 100% the max clock speed is the same.
Theoretical max yes, practical average not. The gain is minimal with voltage bump on Pascal, especially since it's only +50mV.

Which is one of the reasons why I've decided to go with 1060 in the first place - availability and the fact that there is a version of 1060 that runs quiet and is cold, unlike 480s... where 75C is 'cold'.

I got mine for the same price and I have a deep cool captain 240 liquid cooler on mine and have not seen a temp above 65c playing diablo 3 and tom Clancy's the division. also running heaven and valley:typer:

GTX 1060 Gaming X +155 / +700 max 46° in game but i have fixed fan at 75% in game.
i use msi afterburner.
My system
i5-6600k @ 4.5 GHz
HyperX 2x4 gb @ 2800 MHz
ASUS Z170 Pro Gamnig
MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X +155 / +700

Got the same card as you. at 40% fan speed my card stays in the low 40s stock clocks. What are you guys getting on the boost clock? Mine goes to 1974.
I don't know, Never used stock clock:D
My boost it's over 2100 MHz i have +155 on gpu and +700 on memory, your card will do the same. +/- overclock and share your results. I want to compare biggrin.gif

This one ZT-P10600A-10L? Really so quiet on the tiny cooler? What temperatures on full load with what RPM?
I'm more sensitive to noise but still I can't help think that my 1060 was a "dud", yet the temps and RPM I was getting was similar to what reviewers reported. I know someone here changed the paste and it dropped the temps quite a bit so it may just be that they messed up the cooler way too much. Waiting for RMA to resolve now, I don't want the same card again, not with the issues it has and when there are better options available now finally.

You can see the limits for Boost 3.0 in some apps, usually it is this way:
Code:
base X
boost X+200MHz
max theoretical overboost 3.0 X+400MHz = boost+200MHz

Such as:
Code:
base 1500MHz
boost 1700MHz
max theoretical overboost 3.0 1900MHz

But not all cards have the same VBIOS, sometimes the base and boost have different spacing. This is how it goes for reference clocked cards.
GPUz doesn't show overboost 3.0 yet, if it ever will, but other apps can show it. I think the Gainward tool showed it but I don't have a screen of it anymore.
