about 600 euro, so like 600 dollars since our pricing its about the same as in US.

Basicly just the CPU/ motherboard/ RAM

Do you lack performance? If yes, then upgrade. If you have money for upgrading your platform, why did you buy a 1060 instead of 1070/1080?

Well it is not really lacking performance, it just I am not at 200+ fps constantly, playing Overwatch @ 1080p. More like drops to 150-300

Its was more of a attractive pricepoint and thought the 1060 would be enough for 1080p.

So was wondering if a better cpu setup can do that job since I got the 1060 already.
your computer is "enough" for a vast majority of games, trust me.

https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/7636
Also, Overwatch is intended to be a mainstream (as in popular) game. There are other games that are meant to be "next-gen" or "revolutionary" such as GTA V, Witcher 3, Rise of Tomb Raider (2015), Doom (2016), and whatever Battlefield/Call of Duty game comes out next. But let's be real, those game titles are affiliated with pushing hardware to get consumers a reason to "upgrade" so that AMD/Intel/Nvidia profit so they can experience eye candy based on the number of NPC's, 64x A.A., 140 fps, ubersampling, Ultrahigh shadow effects, water, hair, etc (i'm trying to make a point of exaggerating here).

you'll do fine, just like me, in waiting out. I just finished the Witcher 3 on low-end settings. It crashed so many times xD - would've been more stable with a different graphics card + cpu/motherboard i supposed - but whatever. I got through it, so happy! haha

Trust me, there are a lot of gems/games between 2010 to 2016 that we'll barely have time to play. you don't always have to play newly released games that place a burden on current pc configs. Just save your money for an 7th generation i7 (lol sounds funny)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but

http://wccftech.com/intel-kaby-lake-200-series-chipset-processor-platform/

isn't intel releasing its next generation of CPU's in Q4 2016 along with AMD launching its ZEN cpu's between Q4 2016 to Q1 2017?

SEE WHAT I MEAN WHEN I TOLD U TO WAIT IT OUT? YOU WELCOME!

That was what I initially thought about it, waiting out. It has been since 5 years that I did my last upgrade, apart from the GPU that was 1.5 month ago. I guess it would be better to wait for the next generation perhaps yea. It is not that the perfomance is lacking it is just i would have liked to be better in that case like mentioned i could have better gotten the 1070 or 1080.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Going for very high fps will make pretty much all games CPU bound.

You could try and OC 300-400 MHz more to see if fps goes up, it should. 4.2 GHz is a minor OC for i5-2500K, my old 2500K ran 4.8 GHz using cheap air.

Yea I could try that, though my chip is not that good probably. It cant run 4.5ghz with 1.312-1.320, didnt tried higher. Not sure what is a safe voltage range for sandy bridge. I am on air using the Coolermaster hyper 212 evo. Temperatures are well below 56c usually.

Nah half the time i hate some community members. They argue w/ lack of empirical evidence. Some even claim 16gb is mainstream nowadays... wut? You can suffice with 8gb, trust me.

There is plenty of misinformation on the forums/internet. Also, gaming is should be for fun, not competitive. People can care less if you run a game with 60fps or 55fps, but if that bothers you, upgrade xD

I get a random msg /conversation from someone who wanted to compare benchmarks between my i5-3570k once versus his amd 8350 and i told him i bought the i5-3570k when it was released, while the 8350 launched in 6 months later. LOL timing is a big factor when it comes to purchasing decisions.
