Holy hell anyone see whats needed just to watch 4K UHD movies on your PC? I know it's a bit late on the subject. Since I switched to 4K monitor, I was seeing if it was possible. This is why piracy exist, it punishes legit users with dozen hoops to jump through just to watch there own movies. HDCP 2.2(PC Side), Karby Lake CPU, AACS 2.0 support, Intel's SGX and finally UHD Software. Plus a 4K Monitor with HDPC 2.2 Support and HDMI 2.0a+. Allot of monitors still only use HDMI 1.4. I

No E Class Processors(6950X,7900X, etc...) will be support what's needed to Play 4K movies. Then add on top of that barely any Motherboards actually support everything that's needed. I don't even think SGX can be done in UEFI.

It's another reason why Blu-Ray on the PC never really took off.

Intel Optane SSD 900P - has a nice performance but not worth the money when you only get 480 gigs and is only slightly faster then 960Pro. You can get a Samsung SSD with 2TB for the same price. With some of the field tests Intel drive was only 0.5 seconds faster then Samsung 950 during bootup. The 960 was not used not sure what the advantage will be on that drive.

I ran into a small issue, The Hardrive cages can't be installed with my cables & Spliity9/Hubby7 installed on the back. I'm going have to figure something else out. Going try to do tiny sleeving on fan cables and see if that will work. I might need a new plate for the back.

THW10 Pedestal is now available at Case-Labs, I might grab this and move my Harddrives down there.

Different Brand (I couldn't use the one with the blue cap since it's cathode instead of anode for some strange reason). Most RGB controllers are Anode.

Paracord Heatshrinkless Fan cables, I have to wait to until I can dye the male connectors before I can connect them. It's currently 0 degrees outside, so I'm not going even try to dye the connectors.

After Some Testing I was finally able to get SL connectors inside the Housing. There a bit of a burn on the outside of the paracord, that's fine since this was only the testing cable. PET sleeving so far can't be done with SL Connectors or any other dupont connectors. Since the Sleeving OD is to large.

Grabbed a UPS last week. I wasn't sure if I needed one or not, I grabbed one anyways since I wanted to be safe then sorry. I had one PC fry due to power surge.

Quote:

A mini-tower UPS with line interactive topology, the CyberPower PFC Sinewave CP1500PFCLCD provides battery backup, power protection (using sine wave output), and surge protection for desktop computers, workstations, networking devices, and home entertainment systems requiring active PFC power source compatibility. The CP1500PFCLCD uses Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) to correct minor power fluctuations without switching to battery power, which extends battery life. AVR is essential in areas where power fluctuations occur frequently.

Two USB charge ports (1 Amp shared) power portable devices such as mobile phones, MP3 players, and cameras. The CP1500PFCLCD comes with a three-year warranty (including coverage of batteries) and a $500,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee.

I have that same UPS, though a slightly older model. Our breaker likes to go off randomly, this thing has saved a lot of headaches and possible damage/file corruption. thumb.gif I keep it set to show output wattage, helps me remember when I'm folding so I can pause it before I start gaming rolleyes.gif

Going have to read up on it to see how everything works. It's also suppose to be true Sinewave UPS.

Need to look into one myself.

While this model comes close from what I've read, it's still a digitally created sine wave which is pretty much about the best you can do with any ups. There are ups products that do a better job as far as the quality of the sine wave output is concerned, many of which are rated for higher output, but they're really geared toward server use in a system where emergency (generator) power cuts in when utility power is lost.

I was finally able to get them into the SL connectors after allot of testing yesterday.

Some Metal Resistors, These are allot better then those carbon film ones.

More insanity from Intel. Probably related to licensing ... not a real hardware limit re:E Class Processors.
