Is there a difference if I game at 120-144fps with or without freesync?

there will be but you need a R9 290/x R7 260/x/HD 7790/R9 285/R9 380(X) / R9 390(x) / R9 Fury (x) / Nano / RX 460/470/480 for adaptive sync

Adaptive doesnt sync the monitor refresh rate with your frame rate. During this process an amazing fluid motion is obtained that one must see to truly get the feeling. Imagine the movement of a rolex automatic motion vs a random ticking watch

Not to mention how screen tearing can completely ruin the image quality. Freesync/g sync is an absolute must on any display going forward for me
