For movies, is a 4K blu Ray player the only option?

Services like vudu won't stream uhd to pcs

A 4K BluRay player is the only option for 4K Blu Rays.
I think Netflix has started streaming 4K.
You could also get BluRay content on a drive connected somewhere in your network and play it through an HTPC.
Playstation and Xbox one revisions now support 4K, so they will probably support a few services that supply 4K content.
