I haven't seen a single game one needed a 980ti to play, let alone 2 of them. BUT you still paid handsomely for a 1440p monitor and your rig while you refuse to buy games with pricetags over $10.

So, you see how one can find that confusing.

I don't use both my Tis for gaming. One folds while I game or both fold/boinc. Heck, my Wii U has seen more gaming than my Tis. I only got these two because they where used, great clockers, and put way more PPD out than the two OG Titans I had (never use SLI, always leave one card folding 24/7). biggrin.gif The most gaming they may see is Minecraft and Cities: Skylines. And the occasional Point and Click game like Deponia (one nutty series).

I only paid 200 for this used Overlord. tongue.gif Most if not all my hardware is 2nd hand. Gaming is on the bottom of my list when building my computers. I like to do other things with the hardware most of the time. Think only one nutter than me is 4thKor. I lost count how many 980Tis that one has.

I basically got this monitor for more screen space to do my programming classes on. Very nice when I can have both my word doc and visual studio open at the same time while keeping a eye on my BOINC clients and F@H client.

Reason I wait for games to go cheap. They are cheap by the time I get around to buying and playing them, and the fact I don't consider 60 bucks a good bang for buck for a video game and entertainment value. Plus, I'm a tight wade when it comes to money. But if a good deal shows up I will nab it. Offset of not spending a whole bunch of money on games equal to me having more hardware goodies and art supplies to fiddle with.
Ah, alright, that's fair.

That's great, but then you still have to buy all of the other components. Consoles are just cheaper, there's no question...

Ain't nothing wrong with my 1st gen Xeon LGA 1366, I just keep throwing better video cards at it LOL.... and overclock it more. I NEEDS MORE CORES!

Upgrade to an E5-2670, you can get em for like $60, socket 2011 boards are a little harder to come by these days though. tongue.gif

Or a E5-2670 V3. It uses 2011-3 socket and some X99 boards can run them. Reason I manage to nab one for cheap and a little board to put the chip on as well for cheap. (I lurk sells areas in a range of forum boards)

But what about the cost of games?
I was strictly talking hardware here and the fact is consoles are cheaper than PC's. They are far less capable or powerful but that's because they are cheaper and designed for entertainment purposes only.
Then they better give them a keyboard and mouse.
And modding, and emulation, and good backwards compatibility.
Less they are useless milking machines for Rich People that don't know better....
