So you're telling me 8 months after nvidia they will bring out a slower product?

lol

How did you already conclude its performance?

That is why they are a fail. The gap between TXP and RX 480 are just too big.

It isn't such a smart thing to compare a 250$ card to a 1200$ card. I would not like if either the 480 was much less faster or the TXP was any slower than what they're now.

one can check what amd did with Polaris vs what they had and its a massive improvement.
Vega will expand on that

no it isn't, so let's compare a higher tier amd card then.
No one was really comparing cards, just pointing out that the gap between nvidia and amd used to be small, whichever way it went, is now a chasm.

really ? is it that massive ? the card has worse perf/watt and oc heardoom than 28nm maxwell. I believe in Vega tho. They did it with their 28nm Fiji in R9 Nano, they'll do it even better this time.

Again, my point still stands that comparing a 250$ card to a 1200$ card is folly as AMD has not released any competition for Pascal at high end. Regardless of whatever reason they did so, the fact at this point in time is that the only fair comparison one can make about the cards from each manufacturer are the RX460, 470, 480 vs the GTX1060 3GB & the GTX1060 6GB. Perf/ watt is bad compared to maxwell, but at this price range, you'd hardly find people obsessing over electricity consumption. Those who do already have the Pascal.

so "electricity" as you call it is not a point cause amd isn't very good at architecture power efficiency ?
hell, weren't you the one bashing pascal for the fact that some ppl had to run the pc in high performance mode for a while ? so somehow it matters for those who have got $700 to splurge on a GPU but doesn't matter for those who prolly have budget PSUs in their budget rigs ?

Let me put it this way. People who buy these budget cards only care about $$ saved on their purchase. Besides, a card consuming ~70w more than its contemporary is only gonna save you $3-5. Also, I never objected at having to run Pascal in HP mode without context in which I could defend that stance.

I think vega will be a fixed fiji with those bottlenecks corrected in its architecture and shrunken some small updated versions of things and more ram.fiji realized.. or fiji as they imagined it..I think its gonna be great. Its been such a drought on info sucks...but i suspect we can draw conclusions about their performance when nvidia tips their hand
