I bought this sapphire radeon x1550 and was wondering if anybody else has one or knows anything about them because damn! i cant overclock this thing and it sucks. even the slightest increase in the core causes artifacts. even my old 9200 and 9600's would oc. this card is not what i expected but alas i cant always get what i want i suppose. the card works fine at stock but i cant help but want to push its limits y'know?

Dont know anyone who has them. I found some specs here:

Its possible you cant OC some cards dont OC that well at all.

Sounds like its alot worse then an x800, and i doubt it was cheaper. Is it too late to take it back?

its not worde than a x800...like i said it works fine at stock but its just not what i expected. im replacing it with a x1650 pro in a couple of days so i guess i dont have to worry anymore huh? this x1550 will play most of the games me and my wife play on high settings with a 1440x900 res so it works ok i just like to overclock everything its a bad habit. ill try to get some screenshots together with some fps shots

Well that's weird...I have HIs Ati Radoen x1550. It is an old pci card for my dell. The card is great for ocing. I bought a big fan, it barely fits in my case for good cooling. I oc it olny for gaming. The stock speeds are : Core 555.04 and memory 395.6 I think. I oc it to 650+ 415+ for gaming, I play need for speed carbon, I have 800x600, all medium, car it maxed, reflection too. And I have 28+35fps on it :d This car dis great for ocing. Last week I did 740 core and 450 memory I played css on all maxed out everything, the card will let me take anti aliasing 6x on 1280x1024 and I had 23+48fps. That was max but normally to cave the card I play on 800x600 all high except I have models on medium, the game looks great and I can't believe its an old pci car. I bought it on newegg. Ow when I oced it to 750/450 the card temp was good, after 20mins of playing when I touched the core fan it was really warm, not hot but warm so I oced it down and went to lower resolution :d Sorry but no programs support my motherboard so I can't read temperatures except my hard drive I use my hand for that. I even make movies while playing css :d I will send u link I had it oced like 650/ 415 that's my normal settings for playing and then I clock it down....

x1550 rules It is great for ocing!! Just remember buy a massive fan,not those pcs fan heres img what I have

that pci card looks great, i wonder if u can do some benchamarkslike 3d mark 2001 or 2003
im looking for a pci card and this looks amazing i want to know how good it performs with the syntethic benchmark

maybe it's overclocked by default . same with my x550 where i cant even push 10mhz

I have an x1300 but the drivers read it as an x1300/x1550 but i can crank out like 600mhz out of it.
Did you try voltmoding it or maby its cooling is not that good
