Worthy alternatives, most certainly. My gripe with the Cryorig coolers tho, is their noisy 140mm fan. Noctua or Thermalright 140mm models are quieter at the same or better airflow.
My problem with the h5 is that!.
The fan has some weird rpm curve and is always spinning too fast :S
Also i saw in the "official" cryorig post on the forum that everyone is changing the cryorig fan of the h5/r1 for a thermaltake one, so... why not gettin a cryorig cooler ?
Thats why i dont like the cryorig h5
Check this
The range of rpm is awful! :S
Maybe im going toward the thermaltake macho!
You think is a nice option?
But i have one problem.
My case has a 161mm limit and tha thermaltake macho is 162mm :S
Have a look at the Thermalright Le GRAND MACHO RT then, its slightly less tall at 159mm but bigger overall. Performance is up there with the best air coolers. Its slightly more expensive at €59, but that's still a bargain considering how well it performs.

It comes with the tres sexy TY-147B fan with the same 300-1300rpm range as the TY-147A. The Direct is the lowest cost Macho and fares well in performance compared to the H5.

Just to be clear, am I correct in assuming this about changing an entire cooler due to a dislike for the fan curve? And that the tower itself is perfectly serviceable (the H5 is at the top of it's class)? And that this is somehow seen as a more efficient solution than simply changing the fan?

Yeah i was a little disapointed at first xd and maybe changing the full tower is a waste of money.
So im starting to consider the option of buying only a new/better/quieter fan. xd
