I upgraded from a 980 to a 1070 and consider it an excellent upgrade at 1440p.
oced 980 is not so far from 1070 - 4-5 frames max, the only reason for upgrading should be if you feeding 4k display.

This has nothing to do with "hurrying to give money"... the OP has a 780, which was released YEARS ago. No, it does NOT work "good" or even "fine" for modern titles at 1440p, I don't even know how you think this is the case.

His 780 and your 980 Ti are in totally and completely different performance leagues. I don't even understand how you're even relating the two.

Just let the people who tout magical 780 performance contrary to facts, benchmarks and just simply common sense be.

Anyone with actual intelligence in this thread knows a 780 to a 1070 is a huge upgrade and definitely worth it.

I spoke my mind 3-4 pages back and essentially gave up.

Let them enjoy their magical 780 performance. lachen.gif

FYI, OP hasn't even been online for 4 days.

This thread should be locked.

Give more money to gpu companies they need you.

Guy with sli mid range chips talks.

Although i will agree to the thread must locked. Op isn't online for 3 days.

Frankly, a 1070 would be a considerable upgrade over a 780. That said, whether or not it's worth it is entirely up to what games you play. It would be worth it for Witcher 3, but do you play anything else warranting the upgrade too?

It is very true, don't speak when you don't know please. The sooner you realize that 1070 is nothing, the better. And 1080 is only better then 980 ti because of the new vram, otherwise it will be same thing. I really laugh how nvidia pulled that Pascal on people smile.gif Gl to all, im done.

No, at good overclocks, the 1070 is close in performance to the 980 Ti, not the 980. But don't take my word for it, just read the plethora of benchmarks that prove it. Here's an example, with overclocks:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1601896/overclockersclub-overclock-showdown-gtx-980ti-vs-gtx-1070-vs-gtx-1080

So yes, I agree, don't say anything if you really have no clue.
