I use mine mainly for productivity at work and stuff since it's so comfortable to hold when using it. But if I want to play well in my multiplayer FPS of choice, I generally go to a lighter mouse (ex: G403, EC2-B, and maybe even my G303). I can aim pretty decently with my DA but I can't swipe it quick enough as I can with a smaller and lighter mouse with my 18cm hands.

I've used my Black Edition for high level competitive FPS for years but I coudln't go back to using it because of the shape. But hands down one that was the best and most sturdy mouse I've ever used.

Now that you've said it, i'm barely remembering the habu as well. Great to look back where it all started.

Also, the Habu and Copperhead were developed by Flextronics simultaneously. While that project was going, Kingsis had the Krait and Deathadder in development.

Hm, seems like the best shapes were designed out of house, who would guessed that rolleyes.gif . The only other mice i would consider from razer is the abyssus v2. Such an epic shape, very sadly completely ruined by it's fairly mediocre and "lazy" feeling sensor. If the abyssus v2 shape would come with a 3389 or 3988 that would be godlike.

If only they’d listen.

I remember it was co-developed with Microsoft.
It was called Microsoft/Razer Habu.

On Amazon.de it is listed on November 2006: https://www.amazon.de/Microsoft-schnurgebunden-schwarz-original-Handelsverpackung/dp/B000IB0CO0

Yup, I had one. It was very similar to the deathadder. I believe it was even slightly bigger (taller). It really reminded me of what is now the deathadder, crossed with a razer diamondback which was their flackship at the time. It had the rubber side 'grips' which were really just clear light pipes, but it also had separated L/R buttons. I liked it but it was just too large for me to use as a gaming mouse at the time (I was still using my viper) so I gave it to a friend of mine who is 6'5 and he used it for like 5 years.

I always found that the Deathadder, especially from the 2013 and upwards, was one of the best looking mouse, if not the best looking. I hope it will stay just as it is and that Razer doesn't screw up the look with some silly lighting on the sides like the Mamba has.

I am just waiting for Razer to update the mamba with the 5G sensor as they call it. No idea what is taking them so long with that.
