Razer Gigantus Cloth pad - Page 34

I don't think it's a question of hygiene, he said he uses it 12 hours per day, which will wear any mouse pad I know of in a few months.

I think if you're gaming this much, cheap and widely available pad like QCK+ every few months is the best bet.

Yeah that's not due to personal hygeine. That's literally what happens when skin rubs against a mouse surface.

@Crymore -- try some body wash that you normally use and then let it air dry.

I use a lot of small mousepad area, usually in 2 ~ 3 weeks already I feel difference comparing with parts I do not use.

I clean it almost all the time with microfiber cloth to take any dust off the mousepad not to scratch the skatez.

every week I clean with cloth wiping damp glass to take away any "hard" substance.

How I'm not a delicate type? I try to do everything so that everything I have lasts as long as possible and I search a lot on the internet and have tried various forms of cleaning during my various mousepads.

Mousepad for hardcore use usually lasts at most 3 months with me.

I have some kind of problem with my shoulder(less friction, better for me), any difference in the glide I really feel a difference. I play almost everytime and I know how the mousepad changes with the time.

I only appeal to products (besides water) when it is already very different from when I bought and became unbearable(and only when water can't do the job).

I used my Gigantus ever since it was released in their webstore, so had it since start right up until 2 weeks ago when I swapped to a qck heavy to try out again.
Also used it 12+ hours every day since I got it. And I had mine much longer than you have.
My gigantus seems to be in a much better condition.

I do not wash my pads with any liquid, i just shake it off once a week or so, all that I do.
And yes I do rest my lower arm on the pad all the time, browsing, working, gaming.

Most of the sharp white things on my pad comes from scratching since I have crap on my mousepad often when doing casual stuff.

My Gigantus was able to deal with my use of it much better than my G-SR, my G-SR is already becoming faded at one place and no amount of washing gets rid of the fading, might go back to my Gigantus. tongue.gif

I got the Gigantus Black Edition directly from Razer one week ago, here is my condensed review.

The pad was not flat at all out of the box. It took a day laying flat with a glass weight to flaten out. Still, there are slight waves when you feel over the pad, but at least it is not bad enough to be an issue when gaming.

Surface is good, but not the best I used. Together with the huge size, it is a solid surface to use.

There is one huge issue I have with the Gigantus, which is the reason I cannot recommend it at all. It is coated, no, better word is soaked, in some horrible smelling chemicals. The smell after one week of use and constant venting of my room is still heavily present. When you touch the surface, not the underside, the surface with your fingers and put it to your tongue afterwards, it tastes horribly bitter and chemical. Not slightly, VERY strongly! Probably the reason for that is the underside, it came in contact with the surface while packaged and transferred the chemicals.

I already cleaned both the underside a few times and the surface once with water, but the chemical smell will not come off or vanish.

I cannot shake off the feeling I am poisoning myself using this pad....it might be only rubber smell and not that unhealthy, but if you don't know, you get ideas...

Mine only smelled when first removing from the box and went away quickly. Maybe exchange it or put outside for a bit.
