Aside for half a second of fumbling to find the right connector orientation, what are plebs like me missing by not having a Type C connector on our phones?

USB Type C is just the updated USB 3.1 standard from 2.0 and 3.0 USB.

It'll be what most items switch to instead of micro usb etc being used. It adds up to 100W powerdelivery, 10Gbps data transfers and over all updated standards.

It's USB so it will spread, my mb already has a USB-C port for example, my MS phone does as well.

Reversible plug is just a bonus to not have to fumble for 30 seconds sometimes using it.

Thread Starter
I've had such negative experiences with the Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus 5 (see sub-par battery life and camera quality) so I purchased Samsung's Galaxy S series and never looked back.

I really loved the aesthetics of the Nexus 5 tho... just not the performance.

$650... Might be worth it if the panel can hang with the ip7 or note7

My USB C runs incredibly fast. my MB has a USB C port on it (X99) I transferred my entire 25GB of video and photos on the phone to the SSD in about 30 seconds. It would have been faster but the SSD and Flash was slowing down the connection. The connection is faster than any storage device can read or write right now.

Now that Google is moving away from that pricing with their Pixel line I doubt they will be big sellers, even compared to the sales of the Nexus phones which are already rather low. The only way Google even has a chance of them selling is if they get carriers to sell them in stores for the cheaper prices that comes with either 2 year contracts or montly payments on them. So few people in the US ever buy such expensive phones outright.

they were certainly not
mostly only LG ones were affordable
look at the historic pricing of Nexus 1, Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 6...all flagship phones with flagship prices
