Hey all.

I'm trying to decide on purchasing an ultrawide monitor for gaming. I play all kinds of games incl. Overwatch, The Crew, LoL, Battlefield.

Currently I have my eyes set on the LG 34UC79G however what are the good alternatives. I have read on the X34 Acer (but im not sure if its better than the LG or not). Currently im using the ASUS VG278HE which is a 1080p 144Hz monitor.

X34 is the best out of those choices. Out of any choice actually for gaming. Its got G Sync, 1440p, fast panel, IPS etc.

So that monitor is out of budget so im turning down to lower tier widescreens. I assume the next tier is the 2560x1080p ? Budget js about 600-650 euro smile.gif doesnt have to be top of the line but ideal for gaming.

Search eBay- you will see tons of Ultrawides for varying prices.

So i did a little searching and i think im going to select one of the following going from cheapest to most expensive:

29UM68 GBP 240 (2560x1080)
34UM68 GBP 360 (2560x1080)
AOC U3477PQU GBP 470 (3440x1440)

Im mainly considering the 2LGs and from what i understand 2560x1080 on a 34" is like taking my 27" 1080 amd just widening it where as on 29" its a widened 24". Only drawback is losing the 144hz of my screen but u need a lot of money for thise superwide.

Any expierience on these monitors?

Yeah the UM68 is a solid choice- its got the new panel with least problems.
AOC has horrible QC according to many reviews.

Do you have to have the UW? I faced the same issue and got the Pixio PX277. 27" IPS freesync 1440p 144hz. It's $389, iq not the best but works well aND LOOK AT THAT PRICE. This is my placeholder until Vega and cheaper 4k/ UW displays come out.
