Need help from MSI 980ti Lightning Owner (Missing part on PCB) - Page 2

Hopefully you can get those terminals fixed because it looks like they were ripped off completely. I fiddle around with speakers and whatnot every now and then, and if that terminal was ripped off, you would have a dead speaker or headphone driver in some cases.

The other one looks like an SMD capacitor of sorts. Might be better off buying an SMD capacitor kit off of fleabay and choosing the right one from that.

Make sure you have a high quality iron, good tweezers, and solid ~24awg wire.....

Soldering is absolutely no problem, I have the best tools you can buy for money and even replacing solderpads is no big deal for me. But I need to know whats printed on the missing part biggrin.gif Don´t care about the red boxes, the owner makes the picture to show his problem. I added only the orange lines cause these are the traces where the pads will be connected. There is only one part missing, the resistor was never soldered on.

Now I have to wait until the part arrives from china. In the meantime I will fix the pull up resistors near the gpu controller. They are messed up.

Owner says it´s from a ln2 benchsession from previous owner. Don´t ask, they don´t know what they did there. This is just the beginning, they soldered everywhere and it seems while heating with the torch they heated too much xD So many parts not in place or moved.

That was not caused by an LN2 session. That has clearly been mishandled and badly soldered after they realised they damaged it. Good job you can fix that, right? smile.gif
