I suspected something like that.
But i only added 20MHz to the base clock of the GTX980ti.
On my GTX970 i can add 200MHz without any problem
I would think that this card has similar overclocking room.

Doesn't always work like that. What model 980 Ti do you have? Is the BIOS stock? At what voltage are you trying to OC? What kind of temperatures is it seeing during load?

^ what Duality asked.

Also, with 2 GPU's your case is going to be a lot warmer, therefore i would remove your case side panels too allow for more airflow.

If you are still experiencing issues, I would just run the 980Ti alone (remove the 970) to see if it is just a bad clocker - happens redface.gif

Sorry for t he late answer i was on a weekend and had no access to internet.

I have a Asus strix OC Activce card.
It is on stock bios and the voltage is fluctuating between 1.2 and 1.1 volt.
The higher the overclock the lower the voltage (seems strange to me).
Card temperature goes up to 78 degrees celsius.

I currently only have the 980 TI in my case. I took the 970 out because at the moment I don't have the PCIe cables to power it up.
This card is really getting hot when folding, it is keeping steady at 77 degrees. (compared to 60 for the 970)

Your card is throttling down because your temps are to high.

Ok that I understand.
But the fan is only at 50% of its speed, why isn't that automatically increased to reduce the temperature?
And what can i do to cool down this card? (and water cooling is not an option)

Turn up the fan speed and take the side panel off. I do about 70-75% with air.

Ok with the fan running at 70% i can keep the temp at around 60 degrees.
Thanks for the tip.

What is your clock speed now?
One of my 980' is running at 1480Mhz @ 63C with 75% fan speed. Room temp is 71F. Side casing are off.
