If this benchmark is correct, AMD Zen's IPC is not doing so well. frown.gif

It's always the same comment as well. I still don't understand why they bother coming over here. I never go into the Blue/Green forums and rarely partake in their respective industry threads either.

Trolls will be trolls, eh?

If single core gets 984 then 32 cores with 64 thread , efficiency around 50% = (984 *64* 0.5 )  , so at least Multithread score should get 30K. dunno , How many threads can support Geekbench ? 128 thread?

Look at this :

http://cpuboss.com/cpu/AMD-FX-8370

11583/2186 = 5.3 / (8 thread) = 0.6625 or 66% efficiency

http://cpuboss.com/cpu/Intel-Core-i7-5960X

26400/3657 = 7.2 / (16 thread) = 0.45 or 45% efficiency

for this AMD Zen Naples

15041/984 = 15.3 / (64 thread) = 0.238 or 24% efficiency

Supermicro X10DRi ( Top Score)

http://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/576614

68444/4081 = 16.77 / ( 64 thread) = 0.262 or 26% efficiency

Dell Inc. PowerEdge R830 ( 40 cores/80 thread)

http://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/562632

46961/2381 = 19.723 / ( 80 thread) = 0.246 or 25% efficiency

So Boost clock is 2900 Mhz then Single score is around 1968 ( equal to AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2 GHz (4 cores) )

if 4000Mhz , Single score would be around 2952 ( equal to Intel Core i3-3220) Then

R.I.P Zen

Let's all make knee-jerk reactions and doom a brand new cpu!

Relax. Amd isn't doomed, and all of those who are rooting for their failure are morons. Competition is good, and everyone will benefit from AMD hitting a homerun here. That being said, I'd take these leaks with a grain of salt. We don't know the setup on which it was ran. We don't know if it was purposfully gimped or not. We don't know anything other than a few numbers from a single party (it seems). Reserve your reactions and conclusions for something worthwhile. This isn't it. Grow up.

Yes, very reliable.Someone must be having fun, that's for sure.
150k SHA1 is almost half of that of eight 18 core (for a total of 144 cores or 288 threads!) Xeons at 2.5GHz. That's insane for two CPUs, and seems to be one of the tests where the processors are working properly.

The results are mostly very broken, with several singular tests barely getting any benefit past 2-3 cores. Many others that lose with a >8x margin aren't clearly working as intended, only 1-2 subtests should show results like that, in the worst case.

Ew 984 single core score... my Nexus 9 can destroy that single core score....
