[Question] i7 6800k OC w/ Noctua NHD15

I'm planning on getting Noctua NHD15S (Dual fans) for my upcoming build in order to cool my 6800k. Just wondering how this cooler will perform on this CPU since it does run pretty hot. Will I be able to get an overclock on it?

Being on the X99 platform you need to go with the NH-D15S, it will allow room for the graphics card. That being said I have the same cooler for my 5820k overclocked to 4.0ghz and the cpu rarely hits over 60c under stress. It is a wonder and quiet cooler.

I put NHD15 in the post, but I fixed it.

I say grab it and overclock away. You can't go wrong with a Noctua product!

I'm using a Noctua D14 on a 6950X overclocked at 4.2GHz. It rarely goes above 70-75C(22-23C ambient) under load and runs at room temperature while idle. I cannot ask for more. The only other option I guess is Thermalright's SilverArrow, which I haven't tested myself.
Go for Noctua smile.gif
