How to auto disable C1E w/ script

Thread Starter
Hello all - Not sure where this goes but I need some help

I just got a Lenovo Thinkstation P410 (Broadwell - E Xeon) but there is no option to disable C1E in the BIOS and therefor I am getting some fluctuation in core speed while in Windows. I need max clock speed for low latency application this thing will be running. I am able to turn off C1E via RealTemp with a simple uncheck, and clock speed ramps up to max. But its a manual process, and upon reboot, C1E comes back.

What is this checkmark doing in Windows? Is there a reg key I can perm change? If not, anyway I can do this with powershell or script something out to do this upon reboot?

Janky pics from my phone, for reference:

Are you able to set a profile for real temp to start when windows starts and then change the C-state? Realistically though you're saving what...5 seconds and a couple of clicks?

Will try the real temp profile thing. Id rather not have real temp on here at all to be honest - this has to be changing a setting something else can get to.

It is really just a fast few clicks but it will be in an environment that will not be managed and upon reboot, the user/admin wont know/remmeber what to do.

Changing Windows to High Performance didnt work either - since when I google my issue seems to be the common 'fix'

Yeah this one is strange. I've found in the past that sometimes the power profile doesn't apply properly. I haven't figured out exactly what it is, but switching profiles and rebooting a couple of times usually seems to get things working normally.
You should be able to setup your high performance profile with min processor: 100% and have your CPU stay at full turbo, voltage static-ish, but power and current will drop when load is low so you should still be saving power.
I have a batch file on my desktop that enables the high performance plan when I'm about to play games so my cpu freq. doesn't drop.

are you suggesting swapping operating system because of this? thatd be crazy if you were lol, you can get the power profiles working fine. The second I click on my high performance plan, my clock speed instantly goes to full turbo and stays there until i drop back to my balanced plan, where the clock speed instantly drops to one of the lower multis (x22 or something). I've had the issue in the past that OP is describing, where it does work (min proc: 100% does nothing), but a few reboots usually fixes it.

I wonder what setting exactly is changing when I uncheck the C1E in realtemp. There is no specific line item in the realtemp config ini

If it's for work, I would absolutely consider dual booting with Linux if it would save him a trip (possibly to another building he has to drive to).
