Before my amd 280x died (no overclocking) i could run my dual monitors on there full resolutions. As soon as i replaced my 280x, with my old hd 6950, one of my monitors won't display 2560x1440p only 1080p. I tried going into control center nothing, tried windows display settings nothing, i am running out of options, and would like the help of your guys expertise.

Thank you for you help in advance.

where i connected my wires i have dvi d adapter to hdmi and hdmi to hdmi. The div d one is connected to my 2560 monitor and my hdmi to hdmi is connected to my 1080p monitor.

Don't know if your monitors would do it, but mine (Dell 2713HM) won't do full res over HDMI...

Edit: Actually, in your case, it's de 6950...
http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/desktop/6000/6950#
Max HDMI res 1920x1200. You'll have do use DVI-DL ou DP...

Edit 2, after rereading your post: probably you are using a DVI-SL adapter, not a DVI-DL (as far as I know those are usually powered, expensive and somewhat finicky)

The pictured adapter only has half the pins on the DVI side, so can't do above 1080p.

You need a Dual link adapter.
