Fx-6300 only 2 of 6 cores overclock

Thread Starter
When I overclock my cpu only 2 of 6 cores overclock. The other 4 drastically underclock to 1.4 ghz while 2 are at 4.4 ghz. Does anyone have an explanation for this?

Unstable oc
Yeah, what he said. Typically if you're at the cusp of unstable, several threads will fail, but not blue/black screen. You'll see the thread pick up load and then as temperature increases, the voltage reqs go up, and some threads may fail. I've had it happen. As you incrementally increase voltage or decrease clock speed, you'll see fewer threads fail, until you get the clock/voltage that your weakest core can handle.

It's all experimentation man. If you're running stock voltages, I'm surprised any of them hit that 4.4. Just tinker with the voltages and clocks until you find a stable clock and temperature you're comfortable with.

We can't help you as we have no idea what your system specs are.

Why are ideas being thrown around without first having system specs?

WE need:

-CPU features like stepping

-MOTHERBOARD

-RAM

-PSU

etc...

Is Turbo Core turned off? I've never overclocked with it on so I'm not sure how that would affect it, but it almost sounds like it's on. But like others said, should list your system specs first.

I just went through your posts.
You already created a thread and were told that your motherboard has naked VRMs which is really bad for OC, either buy some heatsinks and put a fan above them, or buy a new board.
Your motherboard's VRM are failing, so there's not enough power for your CPU.

VRMs I have already managed their cooling also cpu is at good temp trust me they are doing fine. voltage is 1.44v Power core is off and all power saving features as well. sometimes all cores work sometimes they don't.
