Doing so illustrates to others that you have zero integrity. Or plan to look another human in the eye.. while instead hiding yours, as you steal another's work. It SHOWS what type of human & person you are.

Or what type of business you are..

It also shows no ingenuity, or actual effort on the developer/manufacturer's part. So, when u see a cheap knock-off.. it makes people laugh & snicker.

To be fair, that picture is pretty funny. I'm not speaking in legal terms, so I won't be hiring a team to prove anything, but it's empirically obvious that some Chinese companies are definitely... shooting for a certain image.

Without speaking to legality or anything of the sort, I think we can safely call a spade a spade.

Considering China has no copyright laws and A LOT of counterfeit products come from there (cars, Beats headphones)..............yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhh

ANYWAY! Pixel phone looks like it's about as good of an idea as the Pixel Chromebook. That's all I have to say on that.

@ Zan - Absolutely agreed. But how many corps do you know which follow morals which cater to millions+ customers? Its always if they are legally allowed to do that or no ? If they aren't, well they'd make donations for the next political nominee who can make it so. In the kind of world where corps suck money out of a penny, I'd not see one cheat cheating another cheat a cheat. Besides, Uncle chips don't even make the same kind of clothe that UA is specialized in and the original response came regarding phones as comparisons in which case, one did try to sue another for rounded corners. I have no sympathy for such tom foolery.

@ AKA - Such laws only protect those with resources and they actually do a service by providing cheaper alternatives to users with specs similar to more expensive (read: not necessarily better) brands.

@ NYU87 - So, how much do you get paid by UnderArmour ? 0.49 /Hr.
You still haven't provided proof to UC / Xiomi / Any chinese brand copying any of your fav brands ?

@ Rei86 - Yes, for real.

@formula - Or it just shows what market you are catering to and at prices that others would not offer. Let me show you that not all copying is bad.
Head-Fi
, Head-Fi

And no, I'm not fine with someone copying my work unless they do it better or cheaper effectively / efficiently. And some chinese sellers do either or both of the above fairly well so I'm not grudging.

Oh yea. Both look similar. guess which one I'll get ? The one that is cheaper provided I am satisfied on the quality. Besides, this whole brand thingy is stupid. If none of the manufacturers put their brand logo on them, you'd be hard pressed to even know which product come from which supplier. If you can, then you should not be offended by what I say because you can separate branded from chinese and hence are proverbially, "better off"

I honestly don't think the Pixel is a bad phone. Quite the opposite; it will be an excellent phone.

The problem I see is that Google is trying to beat Apple at Apple's game, which means making the user experience the top priority above all else. This means the phone will need to have a great screen, great battery life, timely updates, and totally smooth operation.

If Google pulls off that list, then the Pixel and Pixel XL will be worth every penny. Otherwise, it's just Google trying to be Apple and coming up short.

Apple gets their customers through clever marketing, but they are able to retain those customers by building a solid, easy to use product. Google has some pretty decent advertising chops, but they do need to work on the 2nd half of my statement.

As for everyone that is looking at this phone's specs, please just stop. That's not the point of the Pixel. The point is to create a premium stock(ish) Android experience that is closely controlled by Google in both hardware and software. This is the same approach that Apple takes, and it has been working for them for years.

It's bad at it's price point.

It's not a bad phone, it's a bad price. I think if this was the next Nexus phones at the nexus price points they'd be huge hits.

Until they will have more imagination and will be more innovative that western companies.

Pretend as much as you want but chinese companies are improving constantly.
In the end I as a consumer I'm interested in buying nice looking things that have great price/performance/quality ratio.
Competition between Chinese mobile companies is crazy right now and I'm glad that after India their next target is Europe.

The factory worker in China/Indonesia who was getting paid 50 cent an hour probably was sick of it. Decided to make the same exact shoe with a different logo.
