Founders edition?
$700 reference card up from $549?
$1200 Titan?

Nvidia is doing some interesting stuff these days. Maybe it's good that gamers are throwing their money at Nvidia, gives them extra money for projects like this: https://www.technologyreview.com/s/601195/a-2-billion-chip-to-accelerate-artificial-intelligence/

Wait I'm confused. Is the next wave of GPU releases (after 1080 Ti) going to be Volta or not??

Hmm ok. I'm just looking for a single card that can drive a 1440p 144hz monitor without having to compromise settings.

Titan Pascal had incredible performance, but it's not quite there yet. This Pascal refresh better be at least 25-30% faster.

I'm after a single card with over double the performance of a 1070. Volta would've done that, but now with this Pascal refresh nonsense...

Volta would have done that?  HAHA I'm sorry but I doubt that.   I bet volta wont even match a 1080/1080 TI  let alone be TWICE as face as you claim.

You picked one of the games that is a consistently low performer across all cards.
A GTX 1070 will do, there will be new games that can't push 144Hz, but that will be like that forever, because game devs will push the current gen technology to the max with their games.

You will always find games that you can't run at full settings on the current top of the range card,
You said it yourself, a Titan XP can't even do what you want for a game that is a few years old already... Even if you get a Titan XP, you will still immediately find games that you cannot run how you want.

We don't even have a single card with double the 980Ti performance on the horizon yet so I hope you're a patient one thumb.gif

As for this whole refresh business I was wondering when they'd address it as the "Ti" cards have always been 2nd gen cards (780Ti and 980Ti). I'm okay with this though, seems absolutely insane to have two Tis for a single architecture.

You don't think Volta, Nvidia's next generation of GPU, will be faster than their current generation?
