[DSO] Mafia 3 – PC version is locked at 30fps, PC graphics settings revealed - Page 21

wow at 60fps+ elitist and snobbery

good games dont need 60fps+ to enjoy

some games require a fixed frame rate lock to keep all the elements in sync and choose to use the lowest denominator. not everyone's PC can run 60fps at a certain setting

60+fps makes the controls more responsive and less frustrating. It definitely is needed to enjoy a game more than if it has an fps lock.

So because someone out there has a Celeron and GT640, people with i7s and Titan XPs shouldn't be able to run a game above 30fps? lol

No, of course not. Like you say it's basically the principle of the matter. There is no reason why the game should be locked on PC to 30fps, other than it's tied to physics. Which they've seemingly fixed in under 2 days.

This is a case of big publishers being big publishers, and seemingly never learning from their mistakes. It's so inconceivably naive, you'd be forgiven for thinking it's all a ploy to increase console sales.

This was a terrible, terrible PC release.

The patch fixes the 30fps cap, but everything else is still buggy. Sudden weather changes, sudden lighting changes, collision problems, AI dumb as rocks, animations out of synch, disastrous mirror reflections. And the absolute worst of all, UPSCALED 720P FOR EVERYONE !

I have already issued my refund, bye.

Shame on you developers.

Looks like they rehashed floor textures from the original Max Payne. Also the controller control schemes are plain broken for me.

This game could have done with being delayed another year.

[EDIT] Honestly, there are things to praise about it. The graphics even, are not entirely miserable. There is some good lighting for example. The narrative is on par from what you'd expect from a Mafia game. It's just sadly stuck in a cracked shell of a game.

There is definitely something wrong with the res. Even at 1440p it looks fuzzy. Not unlike Quantum Break.
