Earlier today, it was hinted that the PC version of Mafia 3 was locked at 30fps. While most assumed that this lock only affected the review code that was sent to a number of publications, we can now confirm that the retail/Steam version of Mafia 3 is indeed locked at 30fps.
"Ideally, video games should be locked to 24 FPS and 2.35:1 ratio for the REAL cinematic feel. They should also have campaigns no longer than 2 hours and should be mostly centered on cutscenes."
I was thinking that review copies are locked at 30fps while full retail copies are not. All of this seems to be based off of the PC gamer article and even in that article they have stated that they are reaching out for clarification.
It may be a bit early for the torches and pitchforks...........

I deserve a swift kick in the nuts for pre ordering this. Its already on the way from Amazon. Since I am a prime member. I get the 20% off. First 2 was good so I thought it was a no brainer. My 1440p 144Hz G-Sync and GTX 1080 cries at this news. Probably gonna send it back.
Patches don't exist though...I mean when was the last day 1 patch for a PC port like 2001...?
I also find most of these gaming news sites list some of the most stupid fixes which leads me to believe they don't even know how to alter most games config files. Years after Skyrims' release there was still tons of FUD floating around parroted everywhere.
I was on the fence on this game and was going to buy given good enough performance on the PC. I guess the decision not to buy was made for me.
