Wait. You read my post and thought somewhere that I think it's totally okay to be locked at 30fps??!

Dude... it's totally unacceptable. I'm in agreement with everybody else.

However, I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch over something that will obviously get fixed in the near future as it always does. This happens with every other game release and somewhere from later that day to a few weeks out from release there is some unofficial or official fix for it. I'm not saying it's not a big deal (to be locked at 30fps), I'm saying it's no big deal because this will be completely irrelevant issue in short time.

At least for we PC gamers anyway. Not sure about consoles...

But if nobody says anything while thinking that it's not ok, like you, then the devs wouldn't fix the game. They will do / not do what they can get away with, unfortunately. So, yes, this whole drama cycle is unfortunately necessary.

Unless PC gamers all around the world would all make a concerted effort and not buy the game and leave the developer and publisher in total silence as to the reason. And then they would come up with the excuse and complain about piracy and only make console games in the future.

30fps never bothered me at all. Having a good story/gameplay is much more important than 60fps
post #65 of 290
Chances are, they're readying a 60fps option in paid DLC or a microtransaction.

How about both?

Because, let me remind you, we've had both since the 90's.

Actually the 30 fps isn't the issue... I've capped games at 30 fps with my older GFX cards to get a smooth frame rate.

The issue is that there is a cap at all.

Can a software engineer chime in a explain why there NEEDS to a frame rate cap in some instances?

Eh, yeah.

I mean....do people forget that this happens with every other game release? This has been quite common even more so since the PS4/XB1 release, it seems. Dozens of games for the past years do this but everybody forgets when the "fix" comes out very shortly after. This is just the next one. You'll all forget and some other game will do the exact same thing real soon.

It's annoying, yes but just as annoying is seeing the threads and whining about it ...over and over and over.

I get it. I'll stop posting about being annoyed. The majority here just like to get their snarky word in and pile on cuz it's cool. Enjoy. smile.gif
