Help me choose a replacement for my Zowie AM

I bought my Zowie AM just a few weeks after it first started selling. I've had it for some time now. I have never owned a mouse that even comes close to how much I love this one. Since then Zowie's prices have nearly doubled and I see they've been bought out by Ben-Q ? What I want to know is, has their quality suffered at all and what mouse (doesn't necessarily have to be a Zowie) is the most like my old AM ? The shape and button placement and sensor are perfect for me. Thanks for your help. thumb.gif

Well first off, what happened with your AM that you're looking for a new mouse? Did it stop working or are you just ready for something else? The good thing about Zowie mice is they're pretty easily modded. Meaning, you could buy a newer Zowie model (FK/ZA) and if the shape (heck, even the coating) doesn't suit you, the internals could be swapped into your current AM shell. Sort of a fail-safe in that regard.

Another mouse that has a similar shape/slope to the AM is the Flick G1, but it's an utter failure of a product and @PhiZaRoaH would probably german suplex you if you even considered it.

On a final note I'd say most people would recommend a mouse with a 3366/3360 sensor at this point, which Zowie does not yet offer. So there's that to consider as well. Plenty of great ambidextrous mice on the current market.

Their mouse quality is fine but I don't believe they offer the am anymore

General complaints is that their scroll wheel is garbage but it's always been garbage. As for actual build and everything seems good on the last two I've had. No weird rattles, I have an fk1 that I handed down which has been running for like three years now so that's a good sign

Maybe have a look at the Nixeus Revel (sensei cloneish with 3360). AM might be thinner at contact point though, there is also the zowie FK /ZA range you can have a look at.

Closest in the Zowie libe up to the AM dimension wise is the Za 12 no?

It still works fine and the scroll wheel seems fine imo. I've just worn off a lot of the coating on the shell. I could probably go on using it a while but if there's one out there that's similar dimensionally I'd go ahead and treat myself.

another recommendation for the nixeus revel. I used an am before and this is similar in dimensions, has the best sensor also which is a bonus.
