A quick look at the G102 Prodigy - Page 2

So Logitech puts better cables on their cheap budget mice...
Why? blinksmiley.gif

The G302 cable is not one I would consider "good". This looks just like that cable.

Wow, how do they manage to ruin something as simple as a basic rubber cable?
I can't imagine how a rubber cable could be worse than the G403/G Pro cables though, that's just amazing if they pulled that off.

Logitech rubber cables are sturdy but stiff. Depends on what you seek in a cable.

Personally I feel that they inhibit movement more than their braided ones, but they do last.

That's really disappointing.
I don't get how Logitech claims to do so much R&D to be the best, but when it comes to the simplest things they're just abysmal.
It's annoying that most if not all of their mice are only worth using if the cables and mouse feet are replaced, that's something 0.1% of people will do.

There's probably a good analogy that could be made here, I won't be making one though.
It's just worsening a possibly great product by overlooking basics, the product is only as good as its weakest link type of scenario.
Like if there was a great monitor, but smothered with the thickest matte anti-glare coating you've ever seen... how about just don't ruin the whole thing like that.
I'm going to make you a really great meal, and then pour a bucket of salt on it at the end for no reason.

So many companies doing things like this has me constantly shaking my head and asking "but why?"
I'll leave though and stop complaining before SmashTV shows up.

I have no problems with either the stiff rubber cable, or the braided cable. It's simply too far down the list of things I care in a mouse to matter.

I don't think the monitor analogy is correct though. No great monitor would apply excessive anti-glare coating, but most do apply some, and are matte. While not top notch, the Logitech cables do their job, and are not exceedingly bad.

Logitech's cables certainly aren't good and their feet aren't the greatest, but depending on your preference you can find pads where it glides fine and the cable is fine if you set it up right.

Does this have the slightly inward curved sides towards the bottom like the G PRO?
