Dark Knight II is a mediocre cooler. It's 3x 8mm pipes perform about the same many 4x 6mm pipe cooelers .. which is 8-12c warmer than most top tier coolers do.

Yeah, and it performs better than 212.

1C behind a D15 and 4db louder for a single tower is pretty good. I wouldn't call that mediocre.

Which sum to 24mm. Don't know why, but three 8mm are about equivalent to four 6mm, exactly as Doyll says.

I have observed Frostytech results for years. I don't rely on them.

Four 6mm heatpipe heatsinks just aren't competitive with the heatsinks I normally test. They don't pass enough heat / cool the CPU well enough to keep my test rig from overheating. I have to back off the overclock and Vcore to test four 6mm heatsinks.

Sorry, but when a review shows a 3x 8mm piple single tower cooling better than a 5x 8mm pipe twin tower (PH-TC14PE) my wonder meter goes into the red zone. tongue.gif

Hmmm....if you ever wanted something to show just how inaccurate FT's synthetic tests are in relation to real world usage, this would be a pretty good point to show. The DKIi is a good $40 cooler, but it really doesn't stack up like that when you put it on an actual CPU in a case.

If something looks like the result of a miracle, there is likely a flaw in the testing.

I know they say 160w, but maybe their '160w' isn't accurate andt isn't enough to show the cooling ability difference.
TheLab.gr uses synthetic heat source, but their testing seems to be much more accurate.
2.7c difference @ 117.1w, 4.4c @ 175.4w, and 10.4c @ 345.1w.
They show it about the same as NH-U12S , not NH-D14 or D15. tongue.gif

As much as i don't like synthetic tests, these do seem a lot closer to what happens on a CPU in mainstream case.

They don't do much testing, but what they do is very well done, often with horizontal, vertical and die orientation testing. thumb.gif
Here is NH-D15S review, but to me it's all Greek. tongue.gif

Do you see the circumference of them? Do you see the base of the heatsink. The Hyper 212 EVO is a toy compared to this.
